Obtain An Instant Credit Report And Credit Scores Online

Why do you need an instant credit report? Your credit report contains all the data a lender would need to qualify you for a loan on credit. Everything from personal information such as your full name, address, social security number to details on each credit card you have and the last time you made a payment on it. Each of the three main credit bureaus (Equifax, Transunion & Experian) has a unique credit file on you.

The information contained in each one is different due to the fact that they are three unique companies that operate independently of each other. Until recently the only way for you to get a credit report from these agencies was to either contact them via phone, mail or the internet and pay for a copy of your report to be sent to you or downloaded from their website.(continued below) Now, with the updated Fair Credit Reporting Act passed by congress, you can download a free instant credit report (Equifax, Transunion & Experian Report) from a centralized website known as annualcreditreport.com. You are entitled to receive one every twelve months from each of the bureaus from this site.

Upon reaching the website you will be asked to verify some personal information and then you will be given access to your reports. Keep in mind that you will not receive a copy of your scores with these reports, only the report itself. The law only requires the bureaus to give you a free copy of your report and not your scores. A good place to receive your credit scores, is the myfico.com website, here you can receive your FICO credit scores from each of the three main bureaus, which is different from a generic or regular score.

It is always a good idea to review from your report before making a big purchase such as a car or home. You also want to take a look at your credit scores as well; almost all lenders use your scores to determine your interest rate.
